Excellent scale, amazing value, quality and workmanship at this price. I used artist oils with a few drops of fast-drying painting medium to finish the raw wood without raising the grain. The bed turned out beautifully and is now dressed in Asian silks and soft, white linens.. The curtain rods are flexible enough to ease an end out to thread a curtain onto.

I have just received this wonderfully detailed bed. I am very pleased with its design and quality. It will be a pleasure to work on and finish.

Purchased on special sale and stained with my artist oils. I used alizarin red under burnt umber for rich look of mahogany. Dense oil paint doesn't raise wood grain as water-based can = no sanding + easy shading options. It takes awhile to dry enough for varnish but may never need it...we'll see.
