I'm wondering about the demensions of the house can someone help me out ? Id love the house and the side extension .But need more info on the size.

The Magpie is our third dolls house and we are very pleased with it. My husband assembled it and he has few comments which may help others:

The kit itself is quite good and it was particularly pleasing to find the holes and grooves already in place for the lighting. However, I did find some minor tolerances issues and have some comments on the instructions which may help others.

Stairs
The top and bottom of the stairs look identical but if you put them in the wrong way around the stop step misses the floor above by one rung. The instructions don’t warn you about this.

I found that the first to second floor stairs did not alight with the upper floor properly (2mm too high). This happened because the base of the stairs was jamming against the dividing wall. This can be fixed by a minor modification to the base of the stairs.

Both these inserts were too high and needed trimming otherwise they cause the floors/ceilings to bow. This doesn’t matter if you are painting the walls but it does make fitting wallpaper difficult.

Lift-up roof:
There is a triangular section, which is glued to the lift-up roof. The triangle looks like an isosceles triangle (two angles and sides the same) but in fact the angles are slightly different. The instructions don’t mention this. The side with shorter length needs to align with the bevel on the roof section. Even with this the right way around I needed to modify the triangular piece slightly to get the roof to close properly.

Front panel:
The font panel has the font door-windows assembly attached. This makes the front panel relatively heavy which tends to bend the hinges.

A couple of suggestions to anyone building this dolls house:
I initially found painting the front doors to be quite difficult but then found it was easily to remove them by removing the pins underneath the doors. The tops of the doors are not glued so once the doors are removed it is easy to pull the Perspex sheets out.

If you place the chimneys as per the instructions, the lift-up roof will rest on them when open. I thought the roof was too heavy for the chimneys so I moved them back so that they cleared the roof when it was fully open.

I love this house and can't wait to build it. My order arrived in Western Australia within a week. Very happy with everything I order from Miminum World. Thank you
